We work with our partners and collaborators to conduct research to keep the public safe from current and emerging public health threats.

Our Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) has 5 research themes. These themes use our expertise in new methods, behavioural science, modelling and evidence to design, evaluate, and improve health protection programmes. Our research projects span these 5 themes.

We make sure that under-represented groups and vulnerable populations are included in our research to help us understand and address health inequalities. We enable under-served communities to be part of setting our priorities and conducting our research.
