The COMMUNICATE films co-developed with ethnically diverse parents and aimed to help answer questions they had about the HPV vaccine. The films were translated into four widely spoken community languages and are ready to distribute.
We have also developed a lesson called EDUCATE , which aims to help young find out about the HPV vaccine and provide an opportunity to answer any questions they may have. Through our previous research activities, we have also identified trusted messengers and ways to share the films effectively.
Project aims:
To work with key stakeholders and parents to refine the practicalities of how the COMMUNICATE films could be distributed and support implementation activities.
What we hope to achieve:
This project aims to improve HPV vaccine confidence and access through three key phases:
Phase One – Co-create a public website with families and professionals to share clear, accessible information about the HPV vaccine information.
Phase Two – Develop and test a local communication strategy using the COMMUNICATE and EDUCATE films, exploring trusted messengers and delivery channels with parents and stakeholders.
Phase Three – Build on existing partnerships to influence policy and expand reach, including national sharing of the films through guidance documents and mailing lists.
