Discovery Day is your chance to explore science and research in fun, hands-on ways – all for free!
Come along to a free day of wonder, fun and discovery in central Bristol.
You’ll find dozens of interactive stalls and activities from the Universities of Bristol and Bath, designed to spark curiosity and invite you to explore everything from quantum science to medieval maps, robots to theatre costumes, and climate craftivism to disgust and the gut-brain connection.
Discovery Talks
A programme of short, family-friendly talks from some of our amazing researchers. No booking required, first come first seated:
Everyday Miracles: The Magic of the Human Body – Dr Dan Baumgardt reveals the astonishing daily feats inside us all.
Bug Talk! The Secret Sounds of Insects – Anza Simon uncovers the hidden world of insect conversations.
A (very) Short History of Your Amazing Brain – Paul Howard-Jones takes you on a whirlwind journey through the evolution of brains.
This is a rare chance to meet the people behind world-changing research, ask questions, and try things out for yourself.
Please note:
This event takes place on the second floor of We The Curious, in the dedicated events space. A ticket to Discovery Day does not give entry to We The Curious’s permanent exhibition floors. Tickets for We The Curious can be purchased separately by visiting www.wethecurious.org
