Academic career development
Supporting our researchers to advance their careers is an integral part of the HPRU EBS. Our academic career development theme provides a supportive environment for our researchers to develop their skills and knowledge at any stage in their career.
Our academic career development strategy focuses on:
- Increasing our team’s skills and training opportunities through PhD studentships and supporting PhDs by publication, mini fellowships, skills surveys and funding training and conference attendance
- Supporting our team’s career development through coaching and mentoring, teaching opportunities, support networks and writing retreats
- Expanding our training opportunities by working with the wider NIHR community to create opportunities to collaborate and share best practice
- Embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in this theme to ensure we provide inclusive development opportunities
